Why Can’t I just Talk to A Good Friend or Colleague?

There are a lot of responsibilities and work in the role of a coach and these may be too much for an untrained person to bear.

1) Accountability

Most life coaches schedule three or more calls a month with their clients. As much as there is commitment from the client, there needs to be commitment from the coach as well. Further, the coach has a duty to drive her client to do things. Friends may not be comfortable to ask someone to do the unpleasant. The burden of accountability and responsibility is shouldered on the coach – that’s what you pay for.

2) Expertise

A trained life coach knows how to visualise, organise, communicate the ideas and drive you towards your goals with greater productivity and less effort. You’ll achieve more in less time with the input of an accredited Life Coach on your side.

3) Delivery

A well-trained coach knows how to communicate the right set of ideas to you. It doesn’t nagging or chiding when you are working with a skilled life coach. Regular contact hours, reflection sessions and learning journeys all add value to the work going on between the coach and yourself.
